It also includes 'organised' official community based club sessions that are not run by school staff - e.g. Cross Country Race, football club, golf club, dance club, karate club, swimming club, cricket club, etc. Deliverers include: AOTTS (Parents), Midday Supervisors, Young Leaders, Coaches, etc.

Activity Type C - Informal PE Activity only

Description: 'Informal' PE Activity is any kind of physical activity that is not covered by the above two sections. NB: This activity MUST RAISE THE HEARTBEAT SIGNIFICANTLY - make the person breathe more heavily! i.e. walking into town does not count.

Some examples that qualify include an organised walk in the North Yorkshire Moors, sport in the park, Wii-Fit board activities, Dance Mat games, cycling or swimming with friends or family at the local pool, etc.

Validated by: Parent/Guardian

How Long?

Organised sessions at a club typically last approximately 1 hour. A Cross Country Race can qualify for 1 hour even though the race is not an hour duration. (Includes time taken to get to the event, warm-up, race, cool-down, etc)

**Please see the website for a detailed list of activities/participation time that can be included in this award. This list will be updated with other examples as we receive them!

Total weekly participation time is then calculated for each activity type and the corresponding award is given. See Log Book for participation times required to obtain each grade. A child must achieve both of the following:

a. the minimum time specified for each Activity Type

b. the minimum overall total time for all 3 Activity Types.
