Kwik Cricket Rules

Mixed Kwik Cricket Competition
Rules Summary

  • Teams of 8 players - minimum 2 girls
  • All players must bowl one over (ideally over-arm but under-arm is acceptable)
  • Teams start with 200 runs
  • If a player is out, the score is reduced by 5 runs and the batters change ends
  • Batters also change ends at the end of each over
  • Players can be out in the usual ways except LBW (unless they deliberately kick the ball away from the stumps)
  • Kwik Cricket equipment will be used
  • A wide/no ball = 2 runs but no extra ball EXCEPT in the final over
  • Last Over - No balls or wides bowled in the last over require an extra ball to be bowled
  • No Ball - a no ball in Kwik Cricket includes:
1. reaching batter above shoulder height
2. bouncing more than once
before reaching the batter
  • Batting Pairs - Once the 'Batting Pair' has reached the batting area, the fielding side may decide who will bowl the next over.  ( After deciding upon a bowler, the batters cannot change with a different pair )
  • Fielders/Wkt-keeper - Fielders may stay in the same positions and do not have to rotate at the end of each over
  • No player is allowed within 10 yards of the batter until the ball is hit (except wicket-keeper)


12 Over games ( i.e. semi-final and final )

  • Bowlers - Every player must bowl at least one over and four players will bowl 2 overs (not consecutive)
